Minnesota Splash Attracts Crowds to U-M

December 13, 2008

By MN Regional Staff

More than 400 FRC team members, mentors and volunteers from regional FIRST teams gathered at the University of Minnesota’s Anderson Hall for the second annual “Minnesota Splash,” a full morning packed with pre-season robotics activities. New and experienced FRC teams had a chance to participate in a wide of variety seminars and robot demonstrations. The seminars, put on by veteran FRC teams 1816, 2220, 2129, and 2169, as well as other experienced adults, helped to convey valuable information relevant not only for building a robot, but also for organizing and running a robotics team. A huge thanks to all the teams involved, and a special thank you to Tim Jump (Keep it Simple!); Kevin Tanner, vice president, PTC, for seminars on Pro-E CAD, Windchill and  MathCAD, and Will Durfee, professor of engineering, University of Minnesota, for their amazing presentations!
