The all girl FIRST Robotics team, Team 2177-The Robettes, were featured in the St. Paul Pioneer Press this week. The team’s 2009 competition robot, Eva, will face off against 51 other teams during the April 2 – 4 Minnesota 10,000 Lakes Regional, Williams Arena.

Publicity Blasts Off for FIRST Lunacy

Medtronic, Inc., the primary sponsor of the FIRST Minnesota Regionals, unveiled new outdoor boards promoting this year’s double regional competitions at the University of Minnesota’s Mariucci Arena and Williams Arena. The outdoor boards are on two metro locations, on Highway 694 (just west of Central Avenue) and on Highway 610 west of 35W. “Science Meets Sport” invites drive-by viewers to check out the free competitions April 3 – 4! Also throughout March, Medtronic is promoting the Minnesota FIRST Robotics Regional competitions via radio spots airing throughout the day on Minnesota Public Radio, as airing TV spots on local stations. Plus, tune into KARE 11's Showcase Minnesota, 10 AM, on Thursday, March 19, to catch a glimpse of regional competition!
Finals of 10,000 Lakes Regional to Air on Metro Channel 6
MCN Metro Channel 6 will cable cast coverage of the final rounds of the FIRST Minnesota 10,000 Lakes Regional on Sunday April 12, from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM. The event will be filmed live at the University of Minnesota’s Williams Arena on Saturday, April 4. MCN Metro Channel 6 is carried on all of the Twin Cities cable systems.
